F-Secure Anti-virus Client Security Quick Installation Guide (Version 8.xx)

(１)．Uninstall anti-virus software (remove)
If your computer currently has anti-virus software installed, remove that software following the instructions provided with the product. After removing the software, be sure to restart the computer.

[!!Caution!!]
If F-Secure is already installed on your computer (including beta versions), follow the instructions in "How to uninstall F-Secure"How to Uninstall F-Secure to remove it from the system before installing F-Secure Version 8.xx.  After removing the software, be sure to restart the computer.

(2)．How to install F-Secure 【Version 8.**】

1. From "Kumamoto University Portal", click Site License Software Download System, and select Anti-Virus Software: F-Secure (Japanese version).

   

   

2. Check the license agreement, and enter the required information.
3. The F-Secure Downloads window will open.
   Carefully read the Installation Procedure.
   ・Package descriptions and
   ・Installation guide
   are displayed.

   Click on the package you want from the package list. 　

   

4. Confirm the file and then click Start Download. 

   

5. Click Save button, then the file save dialog box appears. Confirm the folder that the file will be saved in (in this case, My Documents), then click Save to save the file (zip file).

   

   

6. Extract the downloaded file. Right click the file and select "extract all."

   

7. The extract wizard will open. Click Next button.

   

8. Click Next button. You can extract the files to the selected folder, or you can select Browse and choose another location where to extract the files.

   

9. Make sure that "Display extracted file" is selected, and click Finish.

   

   If the file was not successfully extracted using the steps from (6.) to (9.)  described above, download Lhasa or other extraction software, install it, and extract the files.

10. Once the folder has been extracted (wincli-8.xx), there will be two files inside.

    • ・はじめにお読みください(ReadMeFirst).txt (this file) ・kuic_fsavcs8.**.msi (F-Seccure 8.** )

    [!!Caution!!]
    As already stated in (1) above, if F-Secure is already installed on your computer (including beta versions), follow the instructions in "How to uninstall F-Secure" to remove it from the system before installing F-Secure Version 8.xx. 

11. Close all running applications.
12. In the extracted folder, double click kuic_fsavcs8.xx.msi to install F-Secure.
13. When the "F-Secure Client Security Setup" window appears, click Next.

    

14. Click Install.

    

    The automated installation process starts, and the installation process is complete.

    

    

15. In the Completing the F-Secure Client Security Setup Wizard screen, click Finish.

    

16. When the Installer Information window appears, click Yes to restart your computer.

    

    Your computer will restart. If the computer does not restart automatically, manually restart it.

(3) Automatic update of the pattern file
After the computer restarts, the virus pattern file will be automatically updated to the latest version.
